It is with heavy hearts, that we honor the remarkable life and celebrate the profound impact of Roberta Aungst. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife, a cherished friend, and a dedicated supporter of the arts and of Cape May Stage.
Known to most as Bobbi, she was a beacon of light, radiating warmth and compassion to all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She poured her heart into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them the values of kindness, empathy, and a deep appreciation for the arts, which she held so dear.
As a devoted wife, Bobbi stood alongside her husband, offering constant support through the highs and lows of life. Their partnership was one of love, respect, and shared dreams.
Bobbi’s dedication extended beyond her immediate circle, as she selflessly extended her hands to her community. Her commitment and passion for Cape May Stage was evident in her role as the Volunteer Coordinator, Box Office Associate, and a valued member of the Producer Circle. She was always willing to lend a helping hand even if that meant assisting at special events, distribution of posters with her husband, filling in as an usher, or hosting actors at her home for a home cooked meal.
Bobbi’s dedication to Cape May Stage will forever be remembered as a testament to her love for the arts and her desire to share its beauty with others. It was because of this dedication that in 2020 Cape May Stage created and named an award in her honor – the Bobbi Aungst Volunteer of the Year Award. This accolade serves as a testament to her exceptional contributions and enduring legacy within the organization. It symbolizes the lasting impact she had on the volunteers, the artists, and the entire Cape May Stage family.
Beyond her work with Cape May Stage, Roberta embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm. Her laughter could fill a room and brighten even the darkest of days. She was a source of comfort, a shoulder to lean on, and a true friend to all who sought solace in her presence. Her kindness and genuine care for others knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
As we bid farewell to Bobbi let us not mourn the loss of her physical presence but celebrate the beautiful tapestry she wove throughout her lifetime. Let us carry forward her passion for the arts, her love for her family, and her dedication to serving others. In our hearts, her spirit will forever shine, reminding us to embrace life fully, to cherish those we hold dear, and to follow our passions with unwavering determination.
Rest in peace, dear Bobbi. May your soul find eternal solace. Thank you for gracing our lives with your radiant spirit. Your legacy will forever remain etched in our memories and in our hearts. May your legacy serve as a reminder to us all to embrace the arts, to give back to our communities, and to cherish the bonds of friendship.
